Vacuum Barrier liquid nitrogen line vacuum pump maintenance September 26-28, 2001

The pump motor was tripping the circuit breaker. The motor was replaced.

Old motor

Leland Faraday 325P530

1725 rpm 5.9A, 1/3 hp FR48 frame

New Motor

Dayton GK892 purchased from Grainger (Syracuse office, local call 272-9194) $58.00

1725 rpm 5.5A 1/3 HP FR48Y Frame

 

The oil was replaced in the diffusion pump (55cc) and in the Welch mechanical pump.

 

The fan did not restart after powering back up. It required several manual rotations to start. It should be replaced soon. The label on the fan says:
