The source of atomic N is the Oxford Research CARS-25
The optical voltage can vary by almost an order of magnitude depending primarily on how clean the optical fiber tip inside the RF source is. For the conditions shown above, the optical voltage would be twice what is shown here for a clean optical fiber. The source of debris on the fiber in our system seems to come from the piping, valves and regulators which deliver cooling nitrogen that have been replaced several times in an effort to get stable temperatures. Presumably, long purges of the oils and dirt from these components will eventually deplete them as a source of fiber contamination. Although a careful examination has never been performed, it does not look like the source of contamination is from any component in the RF source.
