This tip was passed along from Dave Braddock at Ovation Semiconductor who learned of it from Chris Palmstrom at the University of Minnesota –
To clean the arsenic off of a phosphor screen, put the screen over a slightly smaller petri dish which is about 1/4 full of 30% hydrogen peroxide. After about 2 hours, the vapors from the peroxide have dissolved the arsenic without attacking the phosphor screen. Be careful not to get the screen wet with the liquid peroxide.
Happy etching.
